Stylish Successful Celebrity Chefs

In the world of celebrity chefs it’s not enough to be great in the kitchen. Famous chefs typically spend less time actually cooking and more time branding themselves. Everything from restaurant ownership to product creation, television shows, cookbooks, and magazines set the standard workload for these top earners. If you’re looking to take cues from these chefs-turned-branded superstars, a good place to start is with what they’re wearing.

When it comes to making a great first impression and a name for yourself, a signature style can help set you apart from others in the sea of white chef coats. Fox News did some research and came out with a list of the top earning chefs from 2015. Who better to emulate than chefs named on this Top 10 list?

  • Jamie Oliver: Maybe it’s his reputation for simplicity in food, but this guy also likes to keep it simple with his wardrobe. Jamie typically wears classic long-sleeved button-down shirts and occasionally can be seen wearing a brown or striped bib apron. When he does wear a chef coat, Jamie opts for the classic white variety with no frills.
  • Rachael Ray: Rachael’s empire encompasses television shows, cookbooks, a line of kitchen equipment, and a magazine. Since most of her cooking is televised, Rachael generally wears everyday clothes which include a lot of ¾ sleeve shirts and blazers.

  • Gordon Ramsay: Known for his strict attitude in the kitchen, it should come as no surprise that Gordon often opts for a standard, short-sleeved white chef coat. He leaves one top button undone and folded down to create a simple signature style. In addition to the basic top, he also wears classic black pants and occasionally sports a white waist apron.
  • Mario Batali: The signature style of this Italian chef cannot be mistaken for that of anyone else. Mario is known for his eclectic garb which includes a button-down shirt, vest, cargo shorts, and orange Crocs. When he does wear a chef coat, Mario likes the classic white, long-sleeved coat with the sleeves rolled up a little.
  • Paula Deen: Like Rachael Ray, Paula cooks a lot in front of the camera. Her standard uniform includes dressy blouses and the occasional bib apron with an embroidered phrase.

As much as your food speaks to who you are as a chef, so does your style. If unique is the look you are going for, take inspiration from these successful chefs and make classic chef clothes unique by wearing them in different ways or pairing them with one standout accessory.
